Dayton!

I'm sitting here watching prelims over and over and over again and got the motivation to write about this weekend! It started off with staying up all night in hopes of sleeping on the bus after our 4:30 am departure. So I started packing around midnight and got done around 2, then me erin and lori met cindy kevin devin and kelly at the eagle diner to stay awake. Then we got on the bus and I passed out until we stopped for food which was at a wendys= amazing. We got to the hotel way early, and my whole room took a nap until we went to Chilis. While we were at Chilis there was a thunderstorm that looked like it could spawn tornados so me and nick kept going out to see if we could see one haha. Then we went back to the hotel where we discovered a momma goose laying on her eggs and would hiss when you walked by. It was funny but maybe we were stressing it out. I was hoping to see goose babies but they didn't hatch by the time we left. We all went to bed pretty early to get ready for leaving at 8 am for practice. We practiced in this cold barn type thing where we could see our breath for the whole practice. I never took my sweatshirt off even during chunks and I wasn't even hot. It felt like fall guard all over again. And sabre hurt to catch and the behind the back flag toss hurt when you missed it and tipped your fingers. We cleaned the flag feature hooray so it was hot for prelims. Sabre was rough to see in there and there were flat out times i didnt even try to catch it cause I knew it would end badly. So I dropped a lot more than usual that practice buts its fine cause my prelims run was amazing but that will come later. So we were supposed to end at 4 but after a fiasco of losing things and looking for them and being productive we stayed later and hit on parts of the show. Then during the last runthrough i stepped on my foot wrong again during the air tour before the flag ensemble and that was not a good thing. It stopped hurting by the time we got to the hotel so that was good. Steph's mom made us taco salad and pasta salad and other things but I remember those 2 cause they were amazing. Me and pasta salad. Love it. Then me, erin, kevin and devin went to the hot tub and the pool and did swim races and marco polo cause the hot tub wasnt hot enough. Then went back to our room and just bullshitted for awhile. Went to bed early again to wake up for our practice for prelims. Our next gym was so much better to see and it was a good rehearsal. Cleaned a few more things. Compromised on a lot of sabre work so that would be clean, overall good and productive. Foot wasn't too bad except for running...too bad thats half the show! Then we got all ready for prelims!!!! Prelims was a good times. I had a really good show even tho there was a drill drama and Julia came through my spot and hit my sabre down, but i was so worried about getting back in that I didn't even think about throwing the 6 so it was good!!! And she's a member of team extreme so I would never hold that against her! It was funny then annnd now. So everyone had a good prelims run...still came in 25th. Sad story but scores aren't everything. We pulled off what we could so that was good. Of course there were breaks here and there but overall good, and the flag feature was clean esp the behind the back toss. The flag ending should have basically been nicknamed "when flag exchanges go wrong" cause there were flags on the ground but its chaotic anyways people prob thought it was supposed to happen. And it was only solid a few times in practice. We slow-mo'd it in our room and just laughed at some of them. I'm glad I had a good run for wgi prelims and as a whole Apex did too. Worth the 10 hour drive out there. So we came back to the hotel, lounged around, went to chick fil a then went over to A class finals. Tried to get there in time for Maura but just missed them!! Thank you Steve for driving us there early and doing everything you could to get us in on time tho!! Much appreciated! Watched the end of A class. Loved Sitao again. Loved Naples. There were a lot of good A class shows. I realllly liked West Orange but other people didnt. Oh well. Then back to the hotel to sleep. Woke up went to McDonalds for breakfast then to the mall. We were basically done shopping in an hour then had to mill around looking for something to do. Sat down in the food court for a long time and just hung out there. Went to chick fil a again and had lunch then went back to the hotel and got ready for world finals. Cheshire was amazing. They had such a good run I was really happy for them. To see girls I taught in middle school out there nailing 7s is such a weird feeling! Leigh was cute, and Avon and James Logan were amazing. Avon stayed at our hotel...that was cool. Then world class...missed sacred heart and JSU and most of Opus 10, loved Onyx's ending, loved NEI, I actually liked fantasia, aimachi was really good but I think I would have liked it better if I hadn't seen them in 2004 and knew what kind of baton tricks they could do...just wasn't crazy for them...loved Sac, and Pride I love their show but they had a rough finals fun. I missed world finals last year I'm glad I got to see them this year. Then back to the hotel and hung out next door till 3 am came back slept for awhile, got on the bus bright and early and slept almost the whole way home. 2 more weeks then Apex is over! Now that I've watched world class performers I think I will do the show a little differntly these next 2 weeks cause I see people who I would want to look like moving and everything so I'm gonna see if that changes anything. Now I should go study or something but no motivation. I'll prob just keep watching prelims over and over.
