Background:  I'm part owner of our family's health food store.  My sister does all of the ordering, I do all of the accounting (I'm not always good with customers as you will see.)  The 1st Tuesday of the month is 10% off day, which means we get all the cheapies coming in for their discount.  On occassion we run out of things, but do our best to keep things fully stocked.  We also hand price with a price gun every product with the price and the date that it came in.

My least favorite customer comes in, I'll name her Sybil.  I can't hide since I'm opening by myself.  Damn.
Me "Hi Sybil how are you?"
Sybil "I'd be better if you had my vitamins last week on Tuesday."   (Right, well aren't we off to a good start today?)
Me "Really, what were we out of?"
Sybil doesn't answer, starts looking at vitamins.  Stops. Gives me the look of death, "And you STILL don't have them!"
Me "Really, what are they?"
Sybil "Doesn't matter since you don't have them and your sister said she would get them in this week."
Me "Umm, it does matter, so why don't you tell me what it is that you are looking for."
Sybil "You know I yelled at her last week for not having them, I can't believe she didn't get them in."
Me (about to freak out) "again, what is it???"
Sybil "EGCG"                 (this is an extract from green tea)
me "Oh, did you look near the green tea in the herb section?" (she was standing in the completely wrong area.)  I walk over to find six of them on the shelf (we usually only keep 2 or 3 on hand).
me "here you go, how many do you need?"
Sybil "That's not where it goes."  (really?  you now know where all of my products go in my store?  Because last time i checked YOU were in the wrong section, not me.)
me "Umm, yes it does.  And actually by the date on the price sticker we did have it last week when you yelled at my sister for NOT having it.  Do you realize that she is pregnant and that when people yell at her she gets stressed out and it ruins her day and it is not healthy for the baby? "
Sybil "I didn't YELL at her."
me " you just told me that you DID yell at her.  You really need to apologize to her."
Sybil "YOU can apologize for me."
me " ummm  No, Sybil, I did not yell at her, you did.  I'm sure she would really appreciate you apologizing for wrongly yelling at her instead of asking for help."
Sybil walks to the register, head hanging low, mumbling something inaudible.

I checked with my sister later that day and Sybil did in fact freak out on my sister as soon as she walked throught he door the week before.  So much so that my sister went home that day crying.  (gotta love her pregnancy hormones).  Had I known THAT I would have been meaner to Sybil.

Attention Customers:  If you can not find something, please ask for help instead of freaking out that we don't have it.  Odds are, we do have it, you just have no clue as to where to find it.
