That is nothing. I had a customer call today and first words out of their mouth was "I want a manager!" Pull up the account, and the customer's complaint was that they did not want any mailings, even though they are 1) The person who opened the case, 2) We cannot selectively choose who to get the mailings, and 3) This was a mass notice that went out to certain clients (over 30,000 of them).
Of course, the best that topped them all was a dead beat that thought that stating that he would file Bankruptcy, thinking that we cannot collect because of that. Little does he know, he can go to jail for avoidance to pay.
Child support is an exception to those rules, due to current obligation continues, and debt is held, but can be continued for pursuit of outstanding deliquencies once bankruptcy is ended. The offside is, most deliquent parents that file bankruptcy, end up paying outstanding child support debt first before anyone else is paid.
It is just that there are those that think filing bankruptcy is going to erase the child support debt owed.
it's so hard for me to imagine someone declaring bankruptcy to avoid taking care of their kids (or putting it off so long that they owe enough to WARRANT bankruptcy) even though i used to deal with cases like that on a semi frequent basis.
there are a lot of kids (twenty somethings, so not really children, per se) who expect to file and never have to pay back student loans. THAT i've seen a lot of.
P.S.: Just to clear things up, I actually LIKE "Soul Meets Body" and "Crooked Teeth". But I haven't heard the rest of Death Cab's stuff and don't particularly care for "I Will Follow You Into The Dark." Still I'm sorry for dissing the whole band based only on that one song (especially when I like 2 others, and Meat Loaf once said "2/3 ain't bad"). That was very immature of me; plz forgive.
That does suck. I work in a call center too - do you get the customers who'll rattle off the hard/confusing parts of their name or address, but slowly spell out 'Fred', or 'Park'? I hate that.
