Today will be the start of a very hectic nine days. After work is Jake's football scrimmage against Northwest (which I know one of the kids playing there from church). Tomorrow Jake and I leave for Austin to go to the UT vs AK game and play tourist in the Austin area for the weekend. Monday I'm going to try to take the boys and head to the Fort Worth Museum to finally see the Star Wars exhibit (Which also happens to be the last day for it as well.) Wednesday I head to San Francisco for my business trip, and finally Saturday when I return will be Mason's birthday party that evening.
Whew! I'm tired just thinking about it.
I feel guilty Jen will be left holding the bag, getting the party ready while I'm gone.
Yesterday, I went to my first Beginnings class with my church. Sort of like a confirmation class for adults. Seems like a good group so far and the format isn't teacher/student but more of a facilitator/small group for discussions. Funny enough, my old economics teacher, Bob "The Colonel" Singleton is in my class as well. He says he remembers me, but also made the comment that if he had more kids like me he wouldn't have retired so obviously he doesn't remember me too well ;) But a nice comment. I'm going to have to miss next week's class due to my trip but I think this would make for a good nine weeks and I'm excited to what I can potentially get out of it.
I wish my wife could take this with me, but with school starting and getting them finished with homework and bed by 8pm it just wouldn't have worked out. Hopefully in the future when they're a bit older we can take classes together.
