Disney Mania and my Childhood.

Disney's Hollywood Studios - The Hat, originally uploaded by Matt Pasant.

Good day everybody! I think I haven't updated in like a month!

Well, I was superbly busy with assignments and deadlines but that's nothing new. So now I'm semi-officially on break already!

'Semi' because I've still got one exam to do - Japanese Written Examination - before I'm off! But this winter holiday ain't gonna be so carefree since I'm doing one winter class.

However, dear boyfie is coming to visit me! So that's a wonder. :)

Anyways, while BFF Chel is gonna indulge herself with Journalism-related films, I have been and will continue to indulge myself in Disney films from the Disney Renaissance era (plus some other great animations from my childhood).

YouTube has been my greatest resource. Thank goodness for the people who upload them and for YouTube not removing them 'due to copyright infringement' or something like that.

So far, I have watched:

Thumbelina (1994)

Don Bluth is such a genius, seriously. I totally love the Fairy Prince. Kay, so this isn't a Disney production but Don Bluth was part of Disney before he ventured out with his own projects. And c'mon, you have to admit he's a genius. The guy did American Tail, Land Before Time and several other great animations.

And I dunno if it's because it was a Barry Manilow or what but the soundtrack is now out of print and they're selling the CD for like USD170!!! And that's the cheapest. A second-hand one, at its cheapest, is USD44++!

Oh Mrs Mouse Field, how could you ruin the image of love for the children?

Romeo and Juliet
Were very much in love
when they were wed
They honoured every vow
So where are they now?
They're dead, dead, very very dead
I'll be bias and say if you wanna show your kids next time (or for your own pleasure at least) the story of Thumbelina, choose this! Not the Barbie versions!!! =p

Hercules

Hercules was freaking hilarious. Ironically, the voice for Megara was the actress for Belle in the Broadway version of Beauty and the Beast.

Zeus: So, Hades, you finally made it. How are things in the underworld?
Hades: Well, they're just fine. You know, a little dark, a little gloomy. And, as always, hey, full of dead people. What are you gonna do?

Mulan

Mulan should so be made a Disney princess. XD I don't know why but there were a few parts where I was just tearing. *le sighs*.

Mushu: Did you see those Huns? They popped out of the snow, like daisies!

Okay, admittedly, I think Eddie Murphy and his lines or Mushu in general made the movie a lot funnier. XD

***
To further prove how gung-ho I am about my Disney/otheranimation mania, I've been downloading the soundtracks!

My playlist now have:
- The Lion King
- Mulan
-  The Little Mermaid
- Ultimate Disney Princess (don't ask why)
- Anastasia
- Beauty and the Beast

And more to come. I even got Grease! Oh John Travolta = <3.

I <3 my childhood memories of animations.

What are some of your childhood's greatest cartoons?

With childish love from a playful heart,
レイラ。

P/S Has anyone heard of Rock-a-Doodle? I give cookies to anyone who has watched it. ;)

P/P/S I'm sorry I killed your f-page. ^^"

memories bring back smiles and tears, childhood fondness, the things i love, recommendations: animations
