Chel got well, what about me?
I've been wanting to update since Saturday night when I went for a Korean BBQ dinner for the first time in my life. The last time I ate real Korean food cooked by real Koreans was in Singapore a few years back and I remember actually starving all the way till the occasion ended at that Korean lady's house. So, that second time I went for Korean food on Saturday night was an eye-opened (wow, big words.) No, but seriously it was. I was so amazed by the way they serve food and the food itself. I mean, yea, sure it was a BBQ but a KOREAN BBQ nevertheless. I was so amazed that I hardly ate and that's coz I just don't understand Korean food. They're either reaaaaally sour or reaaaaaally spicy. Only the BBQ meat and soup was nice. To me, at least. If you're a Korean or actually fancy the food, then take no notice of this girl who's crazy over Japanese things lar, ok? And these side dishes are all so small and "unfilling"!
Alright, maybe for me to properly appreciate the wonders of Korean food (I believe there must be some uniqueness in it that I have failed to appreciate during that dinner), a real Korean should teach me about Korean food while sampling of course. After trying that salmon sushi thing, I decided Korean was nothing! And that was how I ended up really trying out every dish they served. "Sour. Sour. Whatintheworldisthistaste!? Sour. Spiccccy!!! Water~~~ Erm? What?"
Anyways, that dinner was to meet my mom's friend who came down from Ipoh who were having this TVXQ/DBSK (no, they're not from Johnny's, no, they're not Japanese although they sing Japanese songs) fans gathering..something like that. Well, it was just the...9 of us altogether. 4 of them real TVXQ fans who got the room the band members had dinner or whatever in to eat. So, yay for us. Getting to eat Korean food in the room the Korean artistes got to eat in with posters of themselves surrounding them and us. That sounded confusing so to make things less complicated, no, TVXQ was not there with us.
And the most surprising thing of that evening was me "reuniting" with an...acquaintance from Confirmation Class!!! He's an acquaintance because I don't remember really talking to him at all during those two years of Confirmation. I mean, I knew his name and how he looks like and he was like a close friend of a friend of mine but we never spoke before to each other. I think. I didn't see his face when the group of us were walking to the restaurant from the carpark and somehow he sat next to me, with a huge gap in between us, and I still didn't notice him (i was too in awe of this hanging tube thing from the ceiling that apparently sucks up the smoke from the BBQ....thing) until he spoke to me.
Roman: Hey! You're Rachel, right?
Me: *finally seeing his face* Yeaa....
Roman: Remember me?
Me: *blinks* Now I doooo!!!
Hahahaa...my mom was surprised too. What a small world. :D
So yea, I'm still wondering how he can remember who I am with my name and face when we never did really speak to each other before. And yet, we on each other's Friendster (which I hardly use thanks to Facebook which I also hardly use. XD ) Hahahaa...And I'm like super shy and quiet in Confirmation okay! Ask anyone! Ask Joey! XDDD Heeeeheeee...
Anyways, I think I'll help promote my mom's friend's friend, Ludwig, who just released an EP (I dont know what that means..."single" maybe?). I think he's quite talented and well, it's Chinese songs but if u wanna give it a try, have a listen at his demo here:

Today, for Journalism class, the topic discussed was "What is News?"
Ah, well, that's alright. Normal stuff. News, everyday news. But then it came to a point during the presentation where there was a multiple choice question (actually, almost all the questions were MCQ) that amused me:
"What does N.E.W.S stand for?"
And then there were options a, b, c and d. And I was whispering to Alissa how one of my favourite Japanese group is called NewS and they had this line in the song (I think it was NewS Nippon) that goes : North East West South! NEWS!
Something liiiike that...and it turned out the correct answer WAS North East West South anyways~
And then I went off to repeat that to Chel and Deborah and none of them care anyways. XDDDDDD
So, throughout the rest of the lecture, my mind kept playing "Kibou~Yell" whenever the lecturer mentioned the word "News".
"NEWS! Kiseki okoseeeee~~"
I'm reminded of how Kusano sang it when he had to face the Haunted House challenge alone. (was it Kibou~Yell? >.< )
I took the train to my mom's office today! Rather than waiting around college till 6 or whatever time I would have to wait usually for my mom. So, off I went to take the train with Julia and we had the most intellectual and amusing talk about lots of things and among them was about her trip to Dubai during the holidays. I, for one, have never been there and not even seen pictures of it. So, apparently, Dubai has alot of malls and they do have deserts. And she went to this desert safari or sahari desert, you know, i don't know what she was trying to tell me come to think of it. Something to do with deserts and safari.
Julia: So my uncle took us to this desert safari, he paid for us. It's all man made.
Me: You mean it's FAKE?
Julia: ...no, no, they just added more sand.
Me: So, are there cactuses? Oasis?
Julia: ..no, i don't think there were cactuses...
Me: So it's FAKE! A fake desert! How can there not be cactuses?!
It was basically something like that.
Julia: Oh and there were camels too.
Me: Ooo, were they like...free?
Julia: No, they're owned by-...
Me: *stares at her* Har?
Julia: OHHH!!! No, they're not chained or anything. They can move around.
