Yesterday, I celebrated the lives of two of my heroes . . .
and my Mama dearest.
You're my idols and my inspiration. Thank you both.
Btw, Mom made that cake from scratch last Christmas. It's a weird combination . . . ube cake with strawberry icing. Yummm. For her birthday, we ate out at Eastside Mario's and I bought her a small choco capuccino cake. Nothing really fancy, she wanted it simple. She didn't even want a gift. "Just flowers," she said. But I bought her anyways - a Marc Jacobs Daisy gift set, a dozen roses and Clinique sunblock. I am pretty sure she'll use all of those.
