I'm Anna. I joined about a week ago and I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm fifteen. I have really wavy/kinda curly hair. When I was younger I had it long and it was HUGE because I didn't know how to take care of it. When I was twelve I got it cut pretty short and have had short hair ever since. Right now it's the longest it's been since I cut it ( Read more... )

If it was healthy, when it rained or misted on, it wouldn't frizz. I would recommend misting it with a bottle in the mornings to perk the curl up if it was... Pin it up when you sleep maybe? Or use a texturizing cream and cover it. As long as it is damaged, it will frizz when it gets wet.

no, my hair is healthy and it still gets frizzy in the rain. It just depends on your hair, and most people's hair freaks out in damp weather.

I'm aware that there are some anomalies to any commonly accepted rule. But she says she blow dries it everyday. Odds are it's damaged. Odds are that if it wasn't, it wouldn't frizz. Which is what I originally said. Do you have any advise for her?

I don't blow-dry it every day, only after I wash it, which is about two or three times a week. And I'm using straightening lotion to protect it. It's pretty healthy right now.

well I used to go to school at the University of Oregon, and I just tried to avoid getting my hair wet. I carried an umbrella everywhere/wore my hood. As long as I kept my hair out of the rain things were pretty much okay

It's impossible to keep my hair out of the rain. It rains pretty much every day here and it's windy too, so umbrellas don't work and my hair always falls out of my hood and somehow manages to get messed up. Maybe I should buy one of those rain-bonnets that old ladies have? Their hair never seems to get messed up.
