I wanna be on the ball that's rollin'
So the first week of classes is over and i'm optimistic that this will be a better semester. Not having two projects per week will really make a difference i think. Some days will definately be better than others, but i have a lot of class-free afternoons now so that's very nice b/c getting out when it's dark is yucky.
in case anyone cares, this is how my days will go:
Mon & Wed~ 10-11:20 --> Art History; 1-3:50 --> Drafting
Tues & Thurs~ 8-10:50 --> ID Studio 1; 11-12:15 --> Writing for the Media
Fri~ 9-11:50 --> Universal Design
so let's see, what happened this week...... We had no classes on Monday (our first day of classes!) so that was sweet! Rach came back that day and 119 was reunited, and it felt so good! it was kinda weird being back and not being in a schedule though, tho i kept telling myself to enjoy it b/c work is no good. The campus is still very snowpacked so that has provided some amusement, like when Rach and Sarah repeatedly pushed each other into snow banks walking back from dinner as Kate and i watched. The only thing that sucks is that walking on the snow makes me feel like i am going to turn my ankle and all the snow has blocked off the shortcut thru the woods, and let's face it, making Jackie walk farther than she has to is never a good thing. Campus blanketed in snow is quite beautiful tho.
We had to wait a half hour for my ID prof to come yesterday, so that kinda sucked. We're supposed to be able to leave after 15 minutes, and it was 8 in the morning! But my prof had apparently called to say she was caught in traffic so we couldn't leave *grumble* But i would have felt kinda bad anyways; she drives like an hour and a half to get here, so if she'd arrived and we'd all left, that would have been kinda mean. From there i ventured to Writing for the Media, where my prof is a very funny lanky man, but he was cruel and gave us a harder syllabus b/c his department head said that the first one he gave us was too easy! PSHT! i did not think it was so easy to begin with, so i am not thrilled about that business.... Funny thing tho, one of the girls who lives acroos the hall from me (yeah, the room that is perpetually loud at 2 a.m.) is in the class w/ me and she is very nice so that's great b/c i wouldn't know anyone otherwise.
Yesterday afternoon was the BEST! haha, we played some hardcore UNO in 119! my god, we were so loud! People must think we have terrets (sp?) because there were a lot of vulgarities comin' from our end of the hall ("Are you retarded? Because YOU MUST BE!") So after 6 intense rounds (4 of which Rach won; Kate and i both won 1 each) Rach and Kate left for class. It's so nice that we have these afternoons together now! And on Fridays we all have class at 9 a.m., which has never happened before, so we had an amusing morning of dragging each other out of bed.
i fell asleep at like 9:30 last night, beating both Rach and Kate to bed, which has like never happened before. i was just tired since i'd stayed up to 3:30 a.m. the night before doing homework i'd neglected all night (hey! Smallville AND Alias were on! What the heck would u have done!?) So i had a nice restful night, getting to bed before the loudmouths living next door to us began their loud talking where it sounds like they're sitting right next to me when i lay down; it sucks.
"Give me a dime! So i can phone my mother!" haha, best line EVER!
Had an amusing convo w/ Chris yesterday as well. Glad to see he is watching more TV, haha! But he is spurning The OC people! Saying it is not as funny! Psht! HE'S not as funny! j/k.
So tonight should be..... interesting, haha! 119, plus Sarah, shall be drinking. i hope to get some good pictures out of it at least. Alcohol + Napoleon Dynamite = deadly combination.... you know it.
This weekend there shall be some intense internship paper writing, 'woot' as Ed would say. Plus other hw i should get a jump on.... we'll see if that happens....
that's all for now. Mary called me for like 10 minutes this afternoon; impromptu calls are always nice:) i hear we're gonna get another big snow storm next week *crosses fingers* Let's hope so! Cancelled classes are a thing of beauty! Our room phone is not working and it is SUCH a pain in the ass b/c we can't call to get the menu at the caf for the day! We are lazy and picky in 119, haha! ~ <3
