Everything you've heard about chemo is true. It really blows.
I got good drugs for the pain caused by Neulasta, which I get the day after chemo, to cause my bone marrow to pump out red and white blood cells. Makes my bones ache. It's horrible.
Then I got to where I couldn't eat; didn't want to eat. Very odd...hungry from not having eaten for 24 hours, finally got down some food and felt much better. Twenty minutes later my gut, um, detonated. Jesus H Christ, what fresh hell is this.
The third week of every round is when it all turns around and I feel like a million bucks for about seven days...and then I'll get my next infusion (called a "round").
Round 4 is Tuesday, and each round is successively rougher. For every chemo recipient. But I might get a break after round 4 for radiation...six weeks of radiation! It doesn't make you sick, and it doesn't hurt. Woohoo!
