I have had a nicely busy week. I'm afraid I have probably missed posts as I sort of skimmed my FList either over breakfast or before bed, and I am sure I wasn't going far enough back or, to be honest, concentrating properly. My apologies.
I have been eating out and finishing projects. Both enjoyable. There is a sort of pictorial record under the cut.
Monday was a busy day in the shop.
Tuesday I baked, then it was the Tuesday Group at Church and S2C and I went out for a curry at night.
Wednesday I had lunch with my friend (the NYM's mum), and we did a bit of Christmas shopping.
Thursday it was Girls' Night -a pre-Christmas evening with the three 'girls'. We were at school together, and are all around our 70th birthdays! Oh, and I went up to D-d's for NYK2's maths session.
Friday I shopped.
Along the way I have been rounding up help for Messy Church next week, writing a little more of the Glorfindel story, and finishing off projects.
So - completed projects;
The needle felted puffin picture;
An Advent Calendar that I started at WI - 24 cardboard 'cubbyholes' for which I then made the 24 small 'drawers', all fastened together with double sided tape - and I added a backing as the original design was a bit wobbly! It is now filled with chocolates for S2C and I to share.
The Christmas trees that will be part of a display in Douglas -
They are just over 12" high - a polystyrene base covered in knitted cord,
I have one of these but it still takes quite a long time to make that much cord - and carefully glue it on, so I was glad to finally put the last star on top this morning!
Then, one of 'the girls' gave me some red wool 'to make something for Christmas'. I only decided on Tuesday to make the three of them some red fingerless gloves - so there was some frantic knitting going on to be done for Thursday evening!
They were a BIG success...
Chris and Margaret -
Me - wearing Margaret's - my own are blue, and in the car!
And Jo -
Also I have been down to church to put the Advent ring in place -
Currently it is decorated by 9year-old Emily with tinsel and furry baubles; it will eventually have greenery added -but I asked our Church flower designer to leave it with Emily's decorations for now :) And you might notice the candles are not, horrors!, brand new - I decided to recycle last year's!
I have matched envelopes to all the cards the children have made to go to Hands of Hope for distributing with presents to children on both sides of the Romanian/Ukrainian border;
Along the way I ended up sorting out some drawers in my search for one size of envelope :)
And, finally, I made the bauble that we were given the materials for at the session where I made the wreath a couple of weeks ago -
I haven't finished the final Advent project - I have 25 gifts to wrap for the Family Advent Calendar - but I do have enough gifts - and I am going to get everything out on the dining table this afternoon and wrap and label them!
And on Monday it will be NYK2's 15th(!!) birthday.
