Eurovision - I am just posting my impressions as I go. I might well post in a few minutes, and then edit to update rather than wait until the very end. ETA - I have now marked the qualifiers with **. I am glad Sweden and Ukraine got through, but sad about Australia and Ireland

Spain's song is horrible this year (my opinion). We'll be away this weekend so I won't be able to join you here.

There is a whole youtube channel for them I'm told. Honestly some of them are worth a quick flick to see the costumes (Norway...!) but otherwise you haven't missed any major musical excitement, and I'm pretty sure you won't on Saturday either.

I managed to watch exactly one ESC - back in the Stone Age when Nicole (German girl) won it with "Ein bißchen Friede". I seriouly doubt that any other person would remember that. *g*

I do remember Nicole! It was a long time ago though, sometime in the 1980s I think.

Oh yeah, totally remember that look. Heck - grew up with that look. A lot of my lead miniatures that I paint still feature that look, and I have the Games Workshop books to prove my history with the genre - LOL. Your "Eurovision" at least seems far more interesting than our "American Idol" and "The Voice" shows.

Oh Eurovision (or the Eurovision Song Contest to give it its full title) is a spectacular event; the live audience for the final is usually about 30,000 and the TV audience across the two semis and the final is around 200 million people. Many performers have amazing, or just downright weird, costumes, and the effects can also be spectacular. You can get a taste on their Youtube channel!

I recall, from previous years' posts, how incredibly large the audience is for the show. I'm glad you have an opportunity to view it again.

Damn, I'm too short on time to watch the synopsis today, but I'll try to catch it sometime today. From the first 3-4 minutes, there are some good singers on it.
