Pottering!

I mentioned, in my last post, that I have flowers in pots again, despite having a proper garden now. This is because there is actually a broad concrete path between the back of the house and the raised garden and, last year, I realised that this was much of the view from part of the conservatory, and a bit bare ( Read more... )

That should brighten things right up! They look lovely.

And what a wonderful view to have from your front window!

They do brighten that bare patch up :)

It is the view from one of the two settees - the other one looks at a bush and the house across the road! But it is so nice to be able to see the sea.

They do make me smile when I look out that way, now!

How are you settling in?

Oh, I'm having buyer's remorse. Not sure how much of that is this actual place, or my weird brain. Jan says I have ants in my pants.

Oh I am sorry it isn't as good as you had hoped. We have had a number of problems with the house since we got here (... roof leaking for example....) but have never regretted our choice and it sad that you don't feel as settled.

So much wonderful colour and it really dresses up the bare spot! I love all my pots on the back patio.
And how wonderful is it to see the sea from your home?

There are a couple of troughs out there, too, with more petunias in - when they flower fully it will be a real riot of colours!

I love being able to see the sea - and, oddly, I didn't even notice when I first looked around.

The more colour the better is my motto!
Petunias come in so many colours also...they're what I call happy flowers.
:D

Petunias are absolutely one of my go-to plants for that glorious smile-inducing colour. Also nasturtiums and mimumus.

Things in pots are a good way to get a splash of colour. Any container will do, and then get a bag of compost and a few small plants from the garden centre, or the local supermarket, and things start to look beautiful within weeks. I would recommend petunias, surfinias, or mimulus (monkey flowers) as things which will almost always grow and flower.

Thank you. Today is wet and grey - but the pinks and purples are still making me smile :)
