Pictures and question

So in honor of my roommate and I graduating from college, I made cherry cordial cupcakes with rum icing last night. They're basically chocolate cupcakes layered with cream cheese/cherry concoction and cherry pie filling.






And they were delicious, but as you can see...terribly messy. This is the second time I've done a recipe that calls for filling (the other had raspberry jam filling) and both times the silly things leak all over the place and absolutely fall apart. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to do fillings like this and still end up with presentable looking cupcakes?
