these are a test batch for my daughter's luau birthday party. macadamia nut cupcakes with coconut frosting. i'm not sure how i feel about the flavor combination. it's not bad, it's just that both flavors ended up kind of indistinct. i guess they cancel each other out or something. i'm thinking i might try making a macadamia buttercream instead of the coconut. so far i've only frosted the one cupcake i took a picture of, so i might save the coconut to use on a batch of pineapple cakes.
