Where are you when we need you?

I have not posted in... crap, over a year.  A year because I'm just not the journaling type.  I'll keep it up for a while and then I'll loose interest.  It's the way I am.  But what's happened recently had just...boggled my mind.  Many a times my mind has been boggled by the stupidity of people, the arrogance of humanity, the selfishness, etc.  Of couse, my self is included.  Anyway, early Tuesday morning after Katrina hit I was talking with customers and telling them that I'm glad it wasn't as bad as was predicted and I'm glad the levees didn't crack.  Many were relieved as I was.  Then, news crews started showing up more and more, the levees broke, and everything came into light.  Shit had hit the fan.  I mean, really hit the fan.  I don't need to go into it because unless you're purposely sticking your head in the sand, you know what I'm talking about.
It's devistating.  Whole cities are gone.  Demolished and will not be back for probably years.  People displaced, their jobs gone, income gone, family possessions gone, pets gone, family members gone, whole families gone.  I can't even begin to imagine it.  It was terrible and devistating to see it happen over Christmas when it was thousands of miles away when hundreds of thousands of people lost their lives due to a tsunami.  Bodies floating everywhere and again, whole cities, pets, families, etc were gone.  Well, it happened here.  Not hundreds of thousands but probably hundreds if not thousands of people are dead.  The number doesn't matter, really.  Historic parts of this country are gone, never to be the same again.  We might be able to restore some of what use to be New Orleans, Biloxi, other wonderful cities but instead of hearing "this house used to be owned by Blah Blah and is 200 years old," we will now hear "this house used to be owned by Blah Blah, and was devistated by Hurricane Katrina.  Now it's just a shadow of what it used to be."  Katrina will forever be a part of those cities' history.
So, considering all this, you'd think we'd have who there?  The President, correct?  To lead us in this time of devistation.  To show us there's hope and we will survive.  To show us just like he did after Sept. 11 that he's the man to look up to.  We were proud of him then.  I didn't like him.  I still don't like him.  I think he's that turd that gets stuck in your ass when you're contipated and can't get fucking rid of it.  I totally disagree with him on so many levels but after Sept. 11 I really honestly thought he pulled through like a champ and made us feel better.  We were still in dispair but he gave us hope.  Hope that we would get through it.  Many want that now.
President Bush, we need you.  We need you to go there and walk the walk, not just talk the talk.  Get out of your fucking plane and stop your speeches that you're supposed to make for your "base" or anyone else.  They'll understand, really.  They should.  If you called them up and said, "Look dude.  I'm sorry but there's this huge as flood and hundreds of people are dead, thousands are homeless, rioting is becoming more and more prevelant and well, it's a clusterfuck so I need to cancel our date.  Can we reschedule," I'm sure they'd be okay with it.  And if not, then you still tell them to take a flying leap.  *shrug*  Take off that  stupid fucking guitar and hike your ass down there.  I'm sooo glad you had to shorten your month long vacation, didn't want to disturb you.  Oh, and er...what's your deal with taking vacations in August?  Didn't you take a vacation in August before Sept. 11 too?  Not saying your vacations have anything to do with either of them, I'm just saying you might be jinxed or something.  So, don't do that next year and if you do, mobilize the troops before hand just in case you really have to jump off your rocker to be a President.
As for your constituants?  You're pissing them off too.

*edit*
I see you are going, but are going tomorrow.  Friday.  4 days after it happened.  What's your reason?  You didn't want to interfere.  You know, I can understand that but it still doesn't make up for this pussy fucking speech you made about how it's going to take years to clean up.  ??  Do you think so, Einstein?  Jesus christ onna pogo stick, what kind of fucking "we will survive" speech is that?

This isn't really a "Bush is a fucktard" post.  It's an I'm Really Disappointed post.  Like I said, I don't like him.  We totally and utterly disagree on many issues, but I do respect his ability to lead the people in a time of need.  He has that charisma.  That's what helped him get elected.  That's what inspired us as a nation to tote our flags all over the place and ooze pride after 9/11.  We've had a national disaster here, just fucking HUGE and he's yes, figuring out ways to help but damn it seems like he's just treating this like a "Dooh..crap.." kind of thing rather than a "HOLY SHIT" kind of thing.

Just other links in regards to Katrina.  MSNBC has tons of pictures of the devistation.  I wish I could find all the ones that made me realise that the area is gone for at least months, if not years.  And BTW, donate if you can.
