In which the origin of Aureole is revealed

The gang is studying for their magical history test together when Chanyeol suddenly bursts in, declaring. “I found out something totally cool today.”

Everyone looks up, except for Baekhyun, who is used to such declarations already. The rest however, give Chanyeol enough attention for him not to be bothered by Baekhyun’s lack of it.

Puffing up his chest, Chanyeol declares proudly. “I found out that our school name actually refers to the pink part of breast that surrounds the nipples.”

Junmyeon’s eyes bulge out. “R-really?” He squeaks.

Chanyeol nods sagely. “Uhuh. It used to be the latin word for mound, which I guess might have been the initial intention, but nowadays it’s used for its current biological and medical meaning.”

Sehun rubs his chin in deep thought. “I guess that’s why red is one of the school colours.”

“Exactly!” Chanyeol snaps his fingers at Sehun in approval. “And it symbolizes the passion of our school, because the aureole becomes a perky rose red when women are aroused!”

Jongin has been staring strangely at the three for a while. Then turning to Baekhyun, who is still writing notes in his textbook, he asks. “Isn’t the word Chanyeol referring to ‘Areola’ not ‘Aureole’?”

“Probably.”

“…” Jongin’s eyebrow raises. “Aren’t you going to correct him then?”

Baekhyun puts down his pen and stares at Jongin like he’s crazy. “And listen to him theorize how the word ‘Aureole’ might have evolved to ‘Areola’?”

“… Good point.”
