I love Mark Strong, but after seeing him in so many awesome roles recently, it was sort of disappointing that all he was really there to do was chew the scenery and absorb hair oil. *G* But Mary pwned, I was so happy. And yes, even Irene. She could've been so easily the most annoying thing since sliced bread, but she pulled it off, I think. (I even found myself, during the movie, considering femslash where Mary visits Irene in prison and possibly helps her escape. WHAT?!)
I can't get over how much those other guys were courting the slash. It's like pin the tail on the donkey when the donkey keeps sashaying around and waving its butt under your hand.
Apparently the Warner Bros bigwigs are a little vexed with those guys for traipsing around gushing about how much Holmes and Watson are in love with each other. And yet I am sure they're enjoying rolling around in all that money they're making.
I would read the hell out of Mary/Irene. If you chose to write it. Just sayin'.

I actually laugh a little at the idea of gentle neck rubs and soft kisses in your house. In my head, you are sitting there with a disgruntled expression going, "What's the point?"
I am totally with you on the diamonds, and that seems like a lovely compromise. Helping you buy that house is a much better investment!

Weeellll... we may occasionally do gentle neck rubs, but mostly the Male's a constant ball of serious muscle problems, and when I do neck pain I do it with bells on, so it's more like wedge-your-elbow-in-here-and-pull-that sort of things, yeah. *G*
And I would like that wording better too, but I came home to (amongst my beautiful christmas cards - thank you so much, lovely!) another rejection from an agent, basically saying that they couldn't sell it. I can take a hint.
As long as it's fueling the motivation to write another one rather than discouraging you completely, because you're amazing and there's no way I'm letting you give up.
