Harry Potter and finish the next one already, harlot

So, finished it. Wasn't that interesting, then?

Ms Rowling is a damn good writer - look at the depth of believability to Harry's character, or the delicate way she handles key points - but honestly, the whole thing could've used a monstrous-large edit. Flabby. It detracted.

That's one of the big problems with the book - lack of single strong central, driving storyline. It's something I was thinking about with around a fifth of the book still to go. I mean, the first two had their central mysteries, and three and four had central plots/questions. But five... just seems to gather vague elements together. There's a central obstruction, but no real central mystery/plot/thing. It's a problem. The book isn't tight.

But push on! Do! It's lots of fun!

So agree with you on Rowling-flab. Needs a tough editor. I'm not volunteering.

I'd volunteer! Imagine how much money would be involved in this project! The job satisfaction of editing this! Oohh... I'd love it.

Of course, the problem arises with the Diva herself. If she resists the editing, there's no way of insisting. She could just threaten to go to another publishing house. Even if you've got her on a contract, it's not like she couldn't afford a lawsuit.

argh! why would you want to straighten Orli's curls? why do you think lobelia321 needs saving? do you not think she's having fun being a fan of Orli? do YOU not have fun being an Orli fan?

Eep! *hides behind the sofa*

*peers out*

Um, it made sense at the time. Had to do with orcses, which have fallen by the wayside in Lobelia's affections since the Advent of Orli.

And I love Orli. I just don't value the curls above the man.

Mmmm... the man.

i think the lobester still love the orcses. i'm sure she's perfectly capable of loving Orli and the orcses and us - maybe not in that order.

I planned to find Orlando Bloom, pin him down, and then... straighten his curls.

...

DOES NOT COMPUTE

I can't even wrap my head around this concept enough to be boggled or flummoxed or outraged or, well, anything.

*blinkblink*

*licks curls*

I think the initial plan was to shave the curls off, actually. We could do that, and put them in a bottle and give them to you...

Curls of your very own.

(The idea made sense at the time.)

Yeah, that would be Jenn... *points upwards*

(Deliciously mellifluous and intense series it was, too.)
