The Ultimate Fanfic Trope Showdown has circled around again. Nice.
I gotta keep reminding myself these are tropes not genres, because proper "time travel" stories would end up nearer the top than "timeloop" stories, and so would things like "werewolf" when "AU" isn't tacked on afterwards.
The top 10 will vary a bit in sequence from fandom to fandom too -- I'm more likely to read Fake Dating than Fairy Tale in James Bond fandom, for instance, just because the spy genre really enables a good fake dating story, and the fairy tales tend to be a bit naff.
But given all of that, this is a pretty solid match for the order in which I'd pick stories if this was how they were tagged.
