I've had the kind of week that's left me feeling like I was hit all over by hammers. Great week, got lots done, but boy am I tired.
So tired that I just want to play a game for a little while, and not think about work of any kind at all.
In order to fulfil this lofty goal, I have invented a game called Fannish Elevennis (like Fannish Tennis, but better :).
It works like this:
- You serve the ball to me by giving me a prompt for a flash vid (details of how below)
- I make a vidlet to fill your prompt and return it to you
- You volley back with a fanwork of your choice that somehow matches the theme of the vid (fan art, icon, ficlet, another vidlet, rec set, mini-fanmix, meta, whatever floats your boat)
- We both bask in a happy glow of fannish love-all contentment :)
Anyone up for a game?
I'll accept the first three vid prompts that fulfil the following requirements:
- Name a song which I can either buy from iTunes or for which you can give me a working download link
- Name one visual source from the list below
- Name one character, pair of friends/enemies, or romantic pairing
- Optional: Name or link me to a photo, symbol, colour or some other object/theme which I will try to integrate into the vid. If I do, you have to integrate it into your fanwork too.
Visual Sources
- Any single episode of Supernatural, season 4 or 5
- Any single episode of Torchwood, season 1-3
- Any one or two episodes of Community, season 1
- Any one of the following movies: Wimbledon, Down With Love, Sound of Music, Slipper and the Rose, Ever After, Enchanted, Richard III (McKellan), Twelfth Night (Trevor Nunn), Eye of the Beholder, Man From Snowy River, Wizard of Oz, Die Hard 4.0, Sleepy Hollow, Waterworld, Unleashed, Pride & Prejudice (Knightly), Strictly Ballroom, Hero.
Once I've accepted the first three prompts, if there are further prompts anyone else can take them on and play the game, if that's agreeable to both parties.
I have no idea how well this will work. I guess we'll see, right?
