So, I am a coin collector. Nothing fancy or formal- I collect whatever random, foreign coins I stumble upon (or can buy by weight at the Renn Faire's coin booth >_>), and I keep an eye out for either really old, or totally brand new, US coins while at work. I've been a bit bummed because I've hardly found any of the America The Beautiful quarters this year (the mint is doing National Parks now, after all the states), alas.

But asides from new coins, there are old ones. Dad taught me, ages ago, how to tell the difference between an old silver quarter (or dime) and a newer, non-silver one. (Recently I found an easier way- check the date. Pre-1965 and its Ag, baby!) At work its easy to check a roll by looking for non-copper colored edges of a coin, then cash it out and it goes into the collection.

Lately, I've been finding a few. (Specially since I'm not the only coin collector at work, and its a fun competition between me and Levi as to who finds unusual coins in the drawers and tip jars first.) They get taken home and put in the collection- which 'some day', I'll sort them, properly book them, etc etc etc.

However, another part of me wants to take these pretty, heavy disks of gleaming silver, punch holes in them, and be able to wear this shining, precious metal. *shifty eyes* And my friends said it was no surprise that I like dragons...
