I haven't done one of these in aaaages. As seen on
bunney and
yesterday4's journals.
01. The first character I fell in love with: Well I started reading the books when I was pretty young, so from what I can remember it was Harry Potter himself. Although I'm pretty sure I wanted Dumbledore to be my Grandad too.
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Hermione. She's not the most likeable character in the books at times - or at least I don't think she started off that way. And then I really hated Emma Watson's portrayal of her (with the exception of Half-Blood Prince). BUT by the end of the books and especially through reading fanfic, I've come to adore her.
03. The character (most) everyone else loves that I don't: Ermmm, probably Luna Lovegood. And in saying that I don't mean that I dislike her, it's more that I just don't love her like a lot of others do. She's kooky and that's obviously amusing and also touching at points, but she's never stood out to me as much as I know she has to others.
04. The character I love that everyone else hates: I'm going with
yesterday4's answer here and saying Pansy Parkinson. I just think there is so much to her that of course doesn't get explored in the books. I love the idea of a girl version of Draco but with her own edginess and back story.
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer: I don't know. Not a lot of characters have gone backwards like that for me. The ones I don't like are usually the ones I never liked. If I had to pick one I'd have to echo
bunney's thoughts on Dumbledore. He started off so wise and all-knowing and then slowly but surely you realised he wasn't the perfect moral voice he was painted to be. I realise that's the whole point of the story, and in showing that vulnerability JKR was reminding us that he was only human at the end of the day...but still. I'm just generally uncomfortable about how his character was wrapped up and I can't exactly put my finger on why.
06. The character I would shag anytime: Draco!! Always.
07. The character I want to be like: A blend of the golden trio...although perhaps much less of Ron. When I was about 16 I worked part-time at a local supermarket with two other friends. They labelled themselves Harry and Hermione and I got stuck with Ron...because I was totally crap and hopeless at that job. It took me about an hour to stack one shelf.
08. The character I'd slap: Lupin. (**SPOILER ALERT!**) Why did you have to die off-screen/off-...page?!?!! You get a slap for that. Nothing really to do with the character but more the plot. And I'm not even sure if I'd want JKR to change it, but I still found that bit frustrating.
09. A pairing that I love: Draco/Hermione! Did I even have to answer that? (But after that Harry/Hermione despite strangely having read close to zero stories about them.)
10. Two pairings that I hate: Unfortunately I have more than two; Snape/Hermione, Snape/Harry, Harry/Ron, Harry/Ginny
11. Favourite character: Draco.
12. My six favourite characters: Draco, Hermione, Harry, Ron, Pansy, Molly Weasley
13. My five least favourite characters: Percy Weasley, Umbridge, Lavender, Gilderoy Lockhart, Snape
4. Which character I am most like: If I had to pick one then Hermione. But honestly I don't really know.
15. My deep, dark fandom secret: If I could think of one then I would share it... Maybe Harry/Bellatrix or even Harry/Narcissa? Does that count as a dark secret? Probably not.
OKAY so in other news, I'm trying to get my flatmate to watch Merlin. She won't. It angers me. I showed her how hot Arthur was and she replied "Mmmmm...I guess." I was outraged (in my head)!!!!!
Oh and Borris the bloody mouse is still scratching around under the floorboards. In my bedroom as well! I was so hoping our absence over Christmas/January sent him looking for a new warm and food-filled home, but it's like he saw us coming back. Seriously SO MUCH SCRATCHING!!! This flat just refuses to be hassle-free.
