Past lives...

I understand and respect that not everybody believes in reincarnation. I for one, do believe - I have had various experiences in the past that have allowed me to see flashes of what I consider to be some of my past lives. This has not happened in quite awhile, that changed last night.

Myself and Wendi both believe in ghosts and the paranormal. Both ( Read more... )

It could've been a past life, but it also could've been something about the program itself that was attracting a few rambunctious spirits in your area. You might've sensed them and not realized it, or they could've just been fucking with you.

It was a good episode, too.
I am also a fan.

I don't have any of my own stories like that to share, though.

I'm still not too sure what to believe about death/afterlive/reincarnation. I know there's got to be something past death. I, personally, have to believe that. If not, what's really the point of life?

I think the closest thing I've come to believe in is not necessarily reincarnation, but memories of ancestors passed down to you. I have a strong pull towards the celts and druids. I don't know if I believe I was one of them, but I can almost justify that my ancestors could have possibly been (Both my mother's and my father's side of the family has ties from County Cork, Ireland).

Pretty much, I believe everyone has the right to believe what they find as truth as long as it doesn't hurt other's lives. And who knows? Maybe in 50 years or so, we will all know the ultimate truth!

Your comments remind me of the concept of genetic memory - in the Dune novels, the Bene Gesserit were able to access the memories of all of their female ancestors, and in the Clan of the Cave Bear it was mentioned that Neanderthals had genetic memory as well.

My aunt once hypnotized me and took me through a past life regression. According to the regression I said I was once a Tailor's son and blacksmith from Belgium. A mundane life is not always unusual.

Not sure how popular they are these days, but a past life regression may offer insight into these feelings.
