Not so great....

I got a double whammy at school today. First Mrs. Coates showed up unexpectedly to observe me. I told her the best time to come but apparently she disregarded my suggestion. She showed up in time for me to clean up centers so I let them stay longer. I was trying to make books for the class but I quickly put that aside so I could circulate throughout the room "helping" and watching. Anyway, we finally got cleaned up and sang our alphabet songs while waiting for Mrs. Hobbs. Right on time she arrived. And then Mrs. Coates sent her away. Oops. So there went my plans. She instructed Mrs. Hobbs just to leave and let me carry on with my plans. Thanks to Mrs. Hobbs for trying MULTIPLE times to tell her that my PLANS involved HER being there. At that point I had to "monitor and adjust." Let's hope it went alright. That said, I only have one more observation this semester (Mr. Adams) and three more next semester (that I'm not particularly worried about). They can watch me all day long . . . I just hate interviews. Mrs. Adair had the nerve to ask who the woman was and why she was there. I had to explain (yet again) that she was there to observe ME and that I couldn't take a break and she wasn't allowed to do any major teaching. She's so dim-witted.

Hunter was called out of class today (and his younger brother). Apparently someone from DSS comes to check on them monthly. Today she asked them what they wanted for Christmas. I'm pretty positive Hunter doesn't understand her purpose. It's all so sad.

As I was cleaning up centers (the SECOND time), Mr. Adams brought in parents of a prospective new kid. I was warned they were coming but there was nothing I could do. It was nearly lunch time and the kids HAD to clean the room so we could go. They were BATTY!! At least they were decent while Mrs. Coates was there. I was still embarrassed. However, all I gotta say is: I'm sorry Annie JUST got a new student this week but she still has 26 to our 28 SOOOOO . . . this "prospective new student" had better go to her!!

Lunch went smoothly, just cause I rule. :) No accidental A and B mix-ups!

After lunch I had to set the kids loose on an assignment and then head out to Mrs. Hobbs' room. Apparently I'm on my own now with Writer's Workshop. I must admit I now dread tomorrow. And (oops), I didn't read tomorrow's lesson. I suck at life. THEN I sent the kids to Annie's room to watch The Magic School Bus Goes Batty during "recess" and Mrs. Strickland came to do my second interview. Again I had to explain the whole process so Mrs. Dim-Witted would go away and keep the kids away. It as much easier the last time when Mrs. Brewer was there!! The interview was long and NOT fun. She actually taped me and asked specific questions which I struggled to answer. I feel as if I do everything I'm supposed to do, I just do it without fully realizing WHAT I'm doing so I struggle with answering the questions. At any rate, it's over and done with now! I only have one more interview and that's going to be next semester by Mr. Adams. Again, I'll be nervous but I'm not too worried about him; I'm pretty positive he wants me there for SOME reason! :)

After school Mommy and I met at my apartment and she drove me over to see Dr. Martin for my Nerve Study. I wasn't too sure of what to expect and now that I know I can honestly say I probably wouldn't have agreed to it! First she stuck things all over my legs and sent shocks down my legs to my toes. It wasn't too painful until she repeatedly shocked the same areas. Of course I didn't know any of the results but I'm not sure she did either! After the shocks came the NEEDLES. She ended up sticking me seven times in each leg (on the front) then I had to turn over and she stuck me two more times on each leg and THEN four times in my lower back! And when I say "stick" I don't mean it was in and out. She stuck the needle deep then proceeded to jiggle it around and make me more certain muscles. All she really told me was that the same nerves in each leg were receiving a smaller signal. She's pretty positive that all damage stems from my back. (Duh). Again, it was miserable and rather embarrassing. I broke my crying streak too. Suffice it to say, I don't want to do THAT again! In addition to the actual study she gave me MORE bad news. 1) Even though she can identify where the problem is, there is no way to fix it. So really, what's the point in knowing???? 2) She took one look at my heels and told me that the injuries were so deep that they could easily become infected and I could LOSE MY FOOT! That freaked me out so I asked what I could do to heal it. She had no answers. Neosporin? Eh. Peroxide? No. "Just keep it clean, but don't scrub." Great. So now I am in danger of losing a foot and all she can say is "keep it clean." WTF? Glad she's getting paid the big bucks to be so HELPFUL! 3) She is referring me to a physiologist (I think). Anyway, it's some kind of pain specialist and someone that will be in charge of my general health. It'll be someone that looks out for my spine, physical therapy, bladder problems, etc. Great. Another doctor. Dr. Martin will be compiling the study results to give to Dr. Lucas. I am to expect a phone call in the next two dadys to tell me what the findings were. Great. Wish me luck cause it sounds like I'm gonna need it!

After that terrible ordeal I came home to meet Susie. We headed out to Wasabi for a wonderful sushi dinner (which I totally deserved) and then we went to O-Cha to pick up some mochi (for me) and some bubble tea. We enjoyed our teas on the journey to Timmons Arena (which we found WITHOUT getting lost). At 8:00 we were seated waiting for the So You Think You Can Dance performance to begin. It was simply amazing. The Top Ten each had a solo and multiple partner dances and of course, group dances. The season favorites were performed plus some new numbers. Susie and I both had a blast. We made it home in one piece and then Susie returned to Greenwood.

Right now I'm dead tired. I was trying to catch up on Dancing with the Stars but had to rewind it a dozen times cause I kept nodding off. So on THAT note: I'm signing off and going to get some sleep!!

I think I finally have time to myself tomorrow. REST!
