so put on a happy face
Bliss. Happiness. SMILES. Yup . . . that's how I feel. Like a ray of sun is bursting through the cloudy sky. I feel normal again. Even if it is just for a little while~it's still "a little bit of normal." And boy does it feel GREAT!
I got up today at 10:00. Not something I would generally be fond of but I think it's good for me ya know. I had to hurriedly get ready so I could meet up with Bethi for lunch. I had to drop le Mazda off at Vic Bailey for a good oil change and a tire rotation. Gotta keep 'er up to date! Bethi picked me up and we went by Elizabeth's to pick up our lunch. We went to the library to hear someone perform some songs from Footloose. It was good to sit there and just chat. Like I said, it's the normal things that make ya feel good!
I talked to Mrs. Demuth on the way home and gave her the "okay" to going to see A Year with Frog and Toad at the Peace Center. We talked for nearly thirty minutes about the teacher scandal in Laurens, Mrs. Latimer, the possibility of a new assistant, etc. It feels a bit odd to be so chummy with a parent of a student. Well, I suppose at this point I should say a "former student."
Allyson came back to town tonight which is always a good thing. She picked me up for an impromptu trip to Wal-Mart. I made a couple of returns, we wandered around aimlessly, and then we met up with Anne Hamilton and John Hunter. How bout a trip to Gene's . . . haven't been THERE in awhile! It was fun though~we ran into Jordan. I need these kinds of outings just to keep me sane.
Further plans that make me look forward to March:
Tomorrow is my last day of therapy! I have to get up and go at 10:30 because Laura only works mornings now. Not too fun but at least it'll jumpstart my day. Afterwards I'm heading to Pleasant View to visit a bit. I figure why not, I have to be at the apartment complex after school to meet up with Susie. We get to see a model of our new apartment. I'm excited to get a feel for the new place. I even called and got our cable change underway. I feel like I'm on top of things. After checking out the new place I'll be heading off to Michael's. He seems to be missing me quite a bit and has been counting down the days until I return. I look forward to seeing him and I'm willing to bet I'll end up eating a nice sushi dinner at Wasabi. That'll be fun . . . who ever would have thought that I'd find a place in downtown Greenville where the waitress and even the manager realizes I haven't been around, asks about me, and two months later still checks on me? Michael and I have made an impression! Oh yeah, and Ian might come too!!
Saturday my plans are a bit interesting. Most people will laugh but I think it's one of those things that you have to be involved in to understand. Anyway, through Pip's Dogster group I found a link for pug groups in Greenville. We joined (of course) and I found out that there is a Pug Meet-Up this Saturday. Uh yeah, we're going. I think it'll be a fun way to meet more people in the area and it'll give PipNo a chance to play too! If I'm going to be skipping out on the bars and I'm out of a job I have to find SOME WAY to meet people. The page has pictures from their last meet-ups so I checked them out, halfway expecting to see old people. Nope, I was surprised to see quite a few young people and yes, even some guys! It's something that's hard to explain but these little guys do something to ya!
Thursday March 9: Pip's Birthday Party at Nana's house. The family usually has dinner at her house on Thursdays anyway. Pip's birthday is actually on the 10th but we'll be moving so I figured this will be the easiest day to celebrate. Some helpful friends in the Dogster group gave me some websites with pet-friendly recipes and Nana and I are even baking Pip a birthday cake! **Please remember, I never want to have children so for me, this is it!**
Friday and Saturday (10th-11th): PIP'S BIRTHDAY!! Also, the movers will show up to move us from 392L to 101A. No more third floor for Jennaboo and SusieQ. Should be a family affair on my part. I dread having the family arrange my stuff but I won't go there. I think Bryan is going to come over that Saturday. He asked if we needed help moving which I thought was extremely nice of him but I said no. However, I told him we could ALWAYS use the computer help and he said okay. Awww . . . Bryan said he missed me. Sweetness. So he's coming to visit to see me in my sexy brace. ;) I should tell him to bring his swimming shorts so we can take a dip in the hot tub. I think it'll do my back some good.
March 15-17: Taking a trip to Charlotte with Bethiboo. She has to go for work and was complaining that she'd be all alone. She jokingly said I should go with her. I could hang out in the room while she's busy and then we could hang out int Charlotte when she's free. I said okay and when I got home she left me a message saying she was serious. Why not? I mean really, all I have planned is sit around the apartment. Allyson is moving to Cola on the 15th and Susie works days so that leaves me with nothing. It'll do me good to spend time with Bethi. So I'm going. :)
Sat. March 25: A Year with Frog and Toad with Mrs. Demuth and Jacob. She offered to pick me up and I nicely declined. Because of the problems stemming from the accident I told her I didn't want to risk ruining their good time. This should satisfy all requirements: seeing Jacob, being a good teacher, and NOT going to their house (how awkward). I guess I should really be flattered that they're willing to have me around after the Laurens teacher scandal! At least they trust me. :)
Sun. March 26: Footloose with Bethi at the Spartanburg Little Theatre. If I can go to the Peace Center with virtual strangers I think I can handle a trip with Beth. She'll understand if there are problems.
And apparently I'm not ALLOWED to help pay for this stuff! The Charlotte hotel room is paid for by Bethi's work. Mrs. Demuth refused to let me pay for the ticket because she already had it and if I didn't go it would just go to waste anyway. And Bethi says she's gets two tickets for the price of one and refuses to let me pay. I think Bethi wants to play "MommyBethi" with me too and I'm okay with that. ;)
And of course there is a supposed visit from Sarah at the end of March!! I'm still not clear as to when the date is cause I can't ever catch her online. I only hope that if she reads this she knows I wanna see her!!!
And by the time all of this is over it'll be time for another pug meet up in April! And then the doctor visits start again . . . . Maybe Dr. Lucas will tell me I get a smaller brace then. Ah yes, and Spring Break. Susie will be leaving for New York and possibly Florida and I'll be heading to Myrtle Beach to relax with Mom again. Let's just hope I don't come back this time and do what I did the LAST time I left Myrtle Beach!!
