Something strange is happening.
Two Saturdays ago, I got sick at about 3am. I chalked it up to too much sun that day (having spent the day on Parliament Hill) and too much fun at a party I'd been to that evening (although the 'fun' I had doesn't usually lead to illness, just extreme hunger).
Then this past Saturday, I got sick at about 3am. Again, I chalked it up to too much sun (having spent the day wondering around downtown for Open Doors), but this time, couldn't be the fun.
Then this past Sunday, I got sick at about 3am. This time, no sun AND no fun.
So I was forced yesterday to come up with commonalities to figure out what the hell is going on. And the winner is... BBQs. Yes, that's right, each time this happens I have had BBQ for dinner. However given that the three BBQ meals were all different (different types of meat, etc.), I've somewhat narrowed it down to BBQ sauce which I had on all three occasions. Problem is, there isn't necessarily all that much in BBQ sauce to warrant an allergy, at least not a lot that I don't eat regularly otherwise. One thought we had had was Worcestershire Sauce. I had it last Saturday in my Bloody Caesar (and potentially the BBQ sauce), this past Sunday in the BBQ sauce, however, as near as we can tell the Kraft garlic BBQ sauce I had on Saturday did NOT contain it. So back to square one.
I am very convinced it is a food allergy since I feel absolutely fine the next day so it really seems like my body is trying to get rid of something it can't handle. Plus, before I moved out here last September, and a couple of times after, about once or twice a month the exact same thing was happening to me. Then, I had no such problem through the winter. Therefore, it seems likely it is related to BBQs in some way.
The point of all this: Jason, I'm afraid I won't be attending your BBQ.
