Snowflake Challenge #6

Jan 19, 2021 11:50

Honestly, these challenges are such a good way to keep me posting. Especially since the political scene has been beyond draining and I am completely stuck on Jeeves And The Honeymoon AGAIN.

Today workmen are painting and plastering my kitchen. Weeks ago they tore out huge chunks of the walls to rewire the apartment and put a giant honking fusebox in the dining room. It looks like they're going to leave a lot of horribleness behind so that I'll have to rearrange my kitchen.

Challenge #6

In your own space, rec at least three fanworks that you didn’t create. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Reccing is one of my absolute FAVORITE things to do! In fact, I worry about not reccing works and hurting other author's feelings. I'll pull recs from my bookmarks and try not to rec things that have been recced a million times. RTE isn't working for me so the links are not inserted properly.

Jeeves - P.G. Wodehouse

I Shall Write A Book, Jeeves
by airandangels
Summary: Bertie is of the opinion that he's read quite enough detective novels to write an excellent one himself. Jeeves' opinion is inscrutable.
Rating: Explicit (M/M)
This is a sweet, romantic story. Jeeves and Bertie go to a Greek island where Bertie decides to write a detective novel. While they are there, Bertie realizes just what a hunk Jeeves is. The slow burn is remarkably well done, with many clever turns of phrase. It's framed as a WIP but it reads as a complete work.

The Case of Colney Hatch
by Sex_in_Spats
Summary: Noir-ish AU set in contemporary Britain, featuring an OC narrator and ghost!Bertie and ghost!Jeeves. Peter Clark, a paranormal investigator who doesn't believe in ghosts, tells the story of the mystery that changed him forever.
Rating: T (M/M)
Angst Ahoy! A beautifully done ghost story, great OMC. Many years before, Bertie and Jeeves are arrested for homosexuality. Bertie is sent to Colney Hatch, while Jeeves is sent to prison. If this doesn't make you cry, you are an automaton.

The Mummy
Pas de deux
by Belphegor
Summary: Oxford, 1913: Jonathan enjoys fooling around with his best friend, a lot. Then panics a little because, as it turns out, they also very much enjoy making love to each other, and love is a much bigger secret to keep when even a simple kiss can send you both to prison. The dance is well worth figuring out the steps, though. And then the two misfits meet a third...
Rating: E (M/M, M/F)
This is part of a longer series revolving around Jonathan Carnahan, with OCs as well as canon. I'm not too familiar with the movie and this series is fun to read. Humorous and hot.

Good Omens
The Allure Of Fungi
by Wotwotleigh
Summary: Kyle is a young man facing an uncertain future, but things take a turn when he lands a job at A.Z. Fell and Co. He's still not sure where his life is heading, but one thing is certain: it's about to get a whole lot weirder.
Rating: Gen (Implied M/M)
This is a fun story from an outsider POV. Aziraphale and Crowley are spot-on.
