Right now I'm working backwards.

That's easy enough! I'm an egotist and an attention whore!
I'm a good writer, and I know it. Partly because I've been a professional in several fields over the years (journalism, playwright, novels). I have anxiety when I'm writing, that voice in my head yelling "this sucks!" But I trust myself for the most part.
The one thing all of my fiction/play writing has in common is writing in other voices. I write essays in my own voice. But for instance, I've written and performed in several solo shows. All of them as different characters. I'm a natural mimic. So I'm using to writing in different styles and speech patterns. So writing fanfic comes naturally to me. It's another voice. I'm more comfortable using another voice. If I wrote another novel, it would be in a different voice from my own.
Since getting into the Jeeves and Wooster fandom, I have loved writing for it. I started out writing sketch comedy, and this draws from that same well. I love writing wordplay, silly plots, and the characters. It's scary how easily I can get into Bertie's head! It's fun and games, something the rest of my life doesn't have a lot of. I'm disabled because of mental illness, and also have neurological problems, so I can't work. I have trouble socializing in real life. Even though I'm an extrovert, I can be debilitatingly shy. Being a writer is isolating, to say the least!
So, I think I write excellent fanfic in all of the fandoms I've been involved with. I wrote an immense fantasy novel based on House MD. Off and on over the years I've worked on translating it into original fiction. That's been fun. Here are my recs for each of the fandoms I've been in.
House MD:
Nice Day For A White Wedding House and Wilson are to be married in a civil ceremony. House agrees to let Wilson's mother arrange a wedding, on condition that it be simple and dignified. It is neither!

Swiss Army Man
Dancing And Singing And Farting A fix-it fic, because I hated the movie ending. As he watches Manny fart off into the distance, Hank realizes he can't live without his multi-purpose tool guy. It will take more than handcuffs, a busted leg, and nearly drowning to keep them apart.
This is part 1 of the After Verse, a series of episodes taking place after the end of the movie.
