FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
NEW EXECUTIVE PRODUCER ANNOUNCES CHANGES IN THE “HOUSE”
Los Angeles, May 31, 2011
In the wake of departures of “House” show creators David Shore and Katie Jacobs, Greg Yaitanes, director/producer, is taking the reins. Jacobs is working on an untitled project with Amber Tamblyn. Shore is helming the last L&O spinoff, “Law & More Law.”
“We’re moving the show in a whole new direction,” Yaitanes announced. “The entire show is going to stream in real time on Twitter.” He added, “We thought of putting it on Brizzly but that venture didn’t work out as planned.” He did not answer questions about making “House” only available as a T-Mobile app.
“Viewers-er, consumers-will keep refreshing the page to find out what dynamic, game-changing events are happening every week. It’s a great cost-cutter. Every ten minutes we’ll Twit-pic a picture of what’s happening so they don’t lose the visual element. We don’t need sets, we don’t need actors, we just need extremely fast keyboard operators.”
When asked how “House” could show photos on Twitpic without the actors, Yaitanes smiled. “We can recycle photos from earlier seasons. We have a LOT of screencaps of House walking down the hall.”
Hugh Laurie could not be reached for comment. Privately it is believed he took the first Lear Jet to London after settling his Season 8 contract. Robert Sean Leonard is remaining in New York, Lisa Edelstein is shopping a pilot about a single mother doctor, Omar Epps has been added to the cast of “Chicago Code,” and Peter Jacobson has plans to launch his own media conglomerate. Jesse Spencer has been signed to replace Nathan Fillion on “Castle.”
