So I spent Friday morning the the ER. Got up at my usuall 5:30 am for work, took my shower, and then found that I was having a major problem. I could barely stay upright. The room was spinning and I was sooooo very nauseous. Lots of assistance from the hubby and a drive to the ER began. The best part was me sliding down the stairs on my ass so I could get outside to the car. In the ER, I had the great fortune of having one of my former classmates as my nurse, and having Dr. McDreamy as my doctor (not actually Dr. McDreamy from Grey's Anatomy, but Samaritan Hospital's version, Dr. Janikas). So a short time later, I had the diagnosis of labrynthitis (inner ear infection with a virus). That made sense, with the vertigo and nausea. So I had some IV Reglan for the nausea, a dose of IV Toradol (pain med) and an Antivert for the vertigo. I promptly sleept for a few hours, and then got discharged home. Later that evening, it was apparent that Alex was sick as well. He however has bronchitis, most likely from the same virus that caused my labrynthitis. So we are a nice house of sickness. Thankfully I am feeling better, while Alex is still not feeling good at all. More news to follow.
