Before you all pass out from shock ...I AM POSTING AGAIN!

Hello all!
I know! I know! I have not posted in eternity and three days. So now I am posting.
Where to start?
How about here. Alex and I recently celebrated our 7th anniversary together, as well as his 33rd birthday. We are still going strong, even with all the trials we have faced in the past year. From near eviction from a place we were living, to sicknesses, deaths in the family and having less than no money, all I can say is...it only can get better from here.
So I have been working as a graduate nurse in the progressive care unit of Samaritan Hospital in Troy, New York for about 6 weeks now. All I can say is ...1)I love my job! 2)I hate working at 7 am!
I really am loving the job. I take care of extremely sick patients (PCU is a step below ICU/CCU) with pulmonary, cardiac and renal issues. Unfortunately, I deal with patient death nearly once a week. It has been a mentally taxing situation, when for the first 3 weeks, my patients were dying left and right. I have learned how to deal with it much better (my first patient that was dying allowed me the privalage of informing her family that she was not much longer for the world, and placing her into Hospice care). When I say privalage, I truely mean it. I have realized that it is a PRIVALAGE for me to be allowed to provide intimate yet nescessary care and interventions for so many sick and dying people. I often am one of the last people to communicate with a person and recive acknowledgement in return from that person. That is such a heavy responsibility on one's self. To realize that you were the last person who could verbally or non-verbally communicate with another human being before their time here in this world is finished, makes you realize that you are truely blessed in the scheme of things.
OK, but enough of the heavy and deep stuff. I just wanted to post a little bit, and try to get myself back in to the LJ mode. Hope all is well with my LJ friends. Here's to me posting again soon!
