What's in my stereo at the moment?

Lou Reed - Transformer (1972)
Pony Club - Home Truths (2002)
Jonathan Richman - I, Jonathan (1992)

Jonathan, is a genius.

Well, not quite, but it's oh so good.
Best tracks are 4, and 5.

Ok, that's the last I'm going to write about music in this journal.

After I wrote those four lines above I got bored and decided to finish up Extras, the comedy with Ricky Gervais. Six episodes in the first season, like The Office, and I watched the final three.
Unlike the office, it took me a couple of episodes to really warm up to the show. I chuckled here and there at the first two episodes, but it wasn't until the third episode on that I finally laughed out loud. I also started to care about the main characters.
The final episode was very moving, there's a relationship in this show that just seems so real and natural, very much like The Office between Tim and Dawn. It's so subtle, with glimmers of something real. So real that I really care about where the two are headed, be it love or friendship.

I'm also halfway through listening to Ricky Gervais' podcasts, of which there are twelve.
It's basically just a half-hour conversation between Ricky, Stephen Merchant (who co-wrote The Office and Extras), and Karl Pilkington (friend, and producer of various things).
It's amazingly funny, it's been so long since I've laughed so much at such inane conversation. It's mostly Ricky and Stephen poking fun at Karl's incredible ideas and theories about life. They're so off the wall, and the reactions to them are priceless.

Here's an excellent article from the NY Times about the greatness of the show, can't wait for the next slew of shows.

I've got two movies I've borrowed and will watch today and tomorrow. City of God, the Brazillian masterwork (i've read), and Lonesome Dove (which is of course, a masterpiece).
