Baby Shower, Broken Arm, and a Bridal Fair

That's pretty much how my weekend went- in that order. On my way to the baby shower I spoke with Nick who was on his way to the hospital because the dingbat was riding his 4-wheeler and slid and flipped it and it pinned his arm underneath it. His left arm at that (he's left handed) so no more than an hour later he was in surgery and now has a metal plate and screws that will be in his arm forever. This isn't horribly news worthy except for the fact that this now bumps him out of his Warrant Officer school he had been selected for :( Poor dude, I've never seen a more remorseful face in my entire life. Walking into the ER I know my Dad wanted to shake him silly for being so dumb but when he saw the tears just rolling down his face he decided not to. So now, we're not sure what's going to happen. Will they send him back to Iraq? Will the give him a Warrant Officer slot in the fall or is he oficially not good enough now that he has a metal plate in his arm? Will he get out and go to school? Who knows- I just know that he's a sad dude right now.

Yesterday I went to the Bridal Fair with Kristi. This year they had all of the actual brides where this cute little white ribbon so the vendors knew who they were trying to sell to. That was very helpful because then I didn't get bugged all day. Kristi didn't have too much she needed to accomplish so it was a quick in and out.

We're housesitting for the 3 star on base right now. Which, is nice for Daniel because he has like a 30 second drive to work but it's definitely a change in pace. We need to take the pup to doggie day care and feed the cats and make sure their daughter is all good to go for school and swimming practice and all that good stuff. It's just for the next 4 days so no big deal. I'll be happy to be back at home- even if it is in the ghetto.

I guess that's it. Hope you all have a great week!
