Shake it like a polaroid pictcha!
Friday night beginning at 7 was the annual Shake-a-thon for charity. This year's theme was "Shake it like a Polaroid picture - shake it for a cause!" The money raised through ticket sales and donations went to Mary House: a homeless family shelter. With only 3 5 minute bathroom breaks and one 15 minute sit down break we danced for 12 straight hours! It went on forever, but was fun! So fun! I can't believe we all did it without callapsing! I woke up this morning and felt like I was 85! Everything ached! Well, they collected over $2000 for Mary House and it was bonding time with all my friends. Remind me next year just to volunteer!
Thursday was also a great night. CUA hosted a debate between the DNC adn RNC chairmen who are both alums. The whole Pryz was decked out in campaign posters and slogans from both parties. Before the debate I got to meet Gillespie (the RNC chairman) and had a bit of a pre-debate rally. There was a voting registration drive, and it was so cool to see so many people caring about politics and being passionate about what they believe in. Tons of journalists and alums were there. Jakzeel, Christine, Alie and myself didnt have tickets, but 5 minuted before the debate we got extras! These two figures rarely debate, but it was so awesome to have a huge debate like this in such an important election year - especially since they both went here. It was moderated by George Stephanopolis (who I met as well - he's so little!), and was aired live on CSPAN and the internet (it's still there if anyone is interested). It was so cool, and am so glad I got to go. Fun night!
Today I slept all day seeing I didnt get in til 8:00. We went to dinner, ate ice cream and watched S.W.A.T. It was pretty good. We had fun anyway. Now its time to try to get a full night sleep. Good night!
