Am I really in DC?

I often ask myself this question. Life seems so surreal sometimes. I mean I wake up in a place that isn't home, yet I am here more often than I am at home. And it's not a vacation because I work my ass off. So, yea, it is kind of an idol state. I go through the actions, but it doesn't seem like I'm living my life.

Well, today was one of those "blah" days. I was up late last night with my friend Liz trying to figure out Calc stuff for out big test today. I took the test which I'm pretty sure I failed with the rest of the class. My stupid Russian "teacher" who barely speaks English always seems to make the test much more difficult than the class work and the review makes it seem. UGHHHH!! O well. So after that I was kinda pissed and slept for four hours, right through Chem which is also kicking my ass. I'm losing motivation more and more everyday. If i can just make it through December 12 I'll be ok...

Home...ahhh...it is so close I can feel it -- it makes it alot easier to believe having the weather heat up to almost 80 today. I swear, they have the most screwed up weather here! I mean, it was cool and wet last week. This weekend was cool and dry. Now its warm and wet, and Sunday night is supposed to dip into the low 30's. STRANGE is all i have to say!

Strong homesickness really hasn't hit me like it did when I was younger -- thank GOD -- maybe it's me growing up. Who knows? But I do know I have been missing some of the strangest things. For instance, the other day I had the strongest longing to see a festive, heart warming Publix commercial. i mean, they're great. You know the ones with the Pilgrim salt and pepper shakers. Or there is the one where the little girl has the man blow up her pool toy and the brings him a plate of food. Or the one where the kids and the grandfather cover pine cones with peanut butter and hang them on the tree outside to make a dove covered tree. You know what I'm talking about. And even more than the Publix commercials I miss the actual store. Publix really is where shopping is a pleasure! They don't knwo what grocery stores are up here. They all suck as far as I'm concerned. Atleast I dont have to worry about that too much due to my fabulous meal plan, but still, I can't wait to walk through the doors of a Publix! Mmmmm...good times.

I'll leave the other things I miss to another time. I figure no one is even gonna read this much, so I'll save it for next time! Good night friends! I hope I hear from you soon!
