Seriously need help- looking to hire baristas
Okay, I'm at my wits end. My ASM, who has been running my store during my maternity leave, has not been able to hire anyone, two of my existing baristas got second jobs, thereby shutting down their availability on weekdays, and I'm off for another 3 weeks. Oh, and the Christmas season is rapidly approaching. And for those of you who might not be aware, I manage a mall store.
I am desperate for help. I need two baristas who can start immediately. The shifts are 7-3:30 and 9-5:30, Monday through Thursday. The 7am shift might need to come in at 6 or 6:30 sometimes closer to Christmas. Availability on weekend days or evenings is a plus, but not as critical as these weekdays, and you have to work at least three shifts a week. I can't take anyone who wants to do just Mon Wed or Tues Thurs. At this point, the only people who are available before 11am are myself and one shift supervisor, and that's not going to cut it. My boss actually suggested that I go on Craigslist to find applicants, so I figured before I resorted to that, I'd start here.
The store is at Towson Town Center in Towson, Maryland. Starting wage is $7.50/hr plus tips, which generally run right around $1 an hour. The 6 month pay raise brings you to $8.25/hr plus tips. If you know anyone who is looking for day work, please send them my way. Comment here and we'll set somewthing up. My DM is still requiring second interviews for all applicants, so I would have to interview you, followed by his interview, but time is short, so we'd try to make it as quick as possible. As it is, I'm not sure we have enough time to get new hires up to speed by Black Friday. I can't take anyone whose body mods violate dress code (no facial piercings, no unnatural haircolors, no visible tattoos- I have a barista who is getting ready to be fired because the DM saw her wrist tattoo when he visited) and I don't need any closers. I've got stacks and stacks of applications from students who want to work 4-close. I'm going to cross post to the baristas lj group.
