OMG must read
Someone posted a link to this article in the Dragoncon lj, and I was so impressed, I had to repost it. It's basically a guide to men about what women are thinking and feeling when they're approached in public, and if they want to approach strange women in public, how to do so without frightening and/or "creeping out" said women. The comments are ridiculously long, but the article itself is AMAZING. Please, please, read it. I might come back and comment on my own perspective on it when I am done reading the comments, which I have been reading for hours and hours now.
