Live Free Or Die Trying

I can't believe I do this stuff.....

Got an e-mail from the NH Democratic Party today taking our Senators (Gregg & Sununu) to task for blocking a resolution vote on Bush's plans to send more people to die in Iraq.

Well, I'm pretty vehemently outspoken on this issue (Bush is a boob) and the fact that Bush is a boob, so I did exactly what the e-mail recommended. I e-mailed Senator Gregg via his website. Sununu, on the other hand, had such a warm welcome at his site - inviting all his constituents to e-mail, write, or phone him - that I decided to call the Senator.

I expected voice mail, so imagine my surprise when a nice sounding young man actually answered the phone. I told him that I was a constituent who was very unhappy about the whole Iraq situation, and felt that the American people deserved to be heard via a vote on this matter. I then requested that the message be passed along to the Senator, and I was assured that it would be. I even left my name in case Senator Sununu would like to contact me & discuss the matter further. (It was all very polite, as that is always the first phase of my attack!)

Now, I like to think that I'm not at all interested in politics and yeah, it often bores the hell outta me. However, within the space of a few years, I've been to a political rally (for John Kerry), e-mailed all the Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee (to get Bush's judicial nominees defeated, and it worked with that whacko woman), been in contact with my state Governor twice, and now I'm calling Sununu's Washington office. Egads!!!!! Does this mean that I give a f**k?!?!

And now more of the continuing saga, "As The Joint Bends":

My insurance company (Jane) calls me today to tell me that they still haven't received any info they requested from my doctor's office last week. Once again, Mark is telling Jane that he's "working on it." I got really pissed and left an entirely pissed-off message for ol' Marky. I then went on the web and found an orthopaedics practice in Springfield, VT. I have an appt. up there on the 28th. They want me to hand-carry my records and x-rays up; I swear, if Cheshire Medical Ctr. gives me any grief about doing that, I will cause an incredible scene.

And then I'll call Sununu's office for help!
