ok, I am no longer going to introduce my livejournal with "sorry I do not post about anything but video games & modding" because thats all I plan to post anymore. I love Jill, she's an awesome fiancee, we all hung out in vegas with jake and it rocked. It was very sad to see Jake go home this time, everyone was pretty upset. But it rocked, we played hella games, hung out when we were not sick, got a lot of chill time in.
I bought a PSP with my vegas winnings, spent $200 on a PSP, a 1 gig memory stick, 3 games, and a movie. Not the best deal in the world, but totally worth it. I made sure the firmware was a downgradable one, and it was! I got a FW 2.60 psp, and one of the three games he included happened to be GTA: LCS which is the required game for the memory card exploit.
So within 20 minutes of owning the PSP, i had successfully flashed and downgraded it to FW 1.50. Next I updated using the easy installer to Dark_Alex's 3.03 OE-A custom firmware (later OE-A' then OE-B) and homebrew, isos, movies, everything works freakin SO great. Its amazing what I can run on this thing. The CPS2 emulator is dead on, I am so freakin amazed to see all these games running.
What amazes me even more is the PSPPSX support. Apparently sony released a PSX emulator on the 3.0 firmware, and someone took advantage of it and made the POPStation, which uses the Hot Shots golf psppsx code to convert other psx games. So now the meat & gravy of this whole thing, Im running Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on my PSP!!!!
Freakin unbelievable. I am going to try converting Einhander to psppsx later tonight before I leave for Karate. This system was so worth the money, I was a little iffy when all I had was some decent games and perfect NES & Genesis emulators. But this tops the freakin cake. WOOOOOT!!
