The replacement magnetic trap should be ready tomorrow today. This one has colour-coded heat shrink goodness for easy identification and more insulation. I'll be doing some tests with it this week and adding on all the extra coils (one set of coils can be re-used from the previous trap, but I have to make the rest up again). Now IF nothing else goes wrong, we can start trying to move atoms around with the transfer coils - these pick up atoms from the MOT and carry it to the science cell via a high precision track (accurate placement to about 6 microns). After that, we can start trying to make BECs!
