I've finally bought myself a new computer, giving up on getting something without windows to buy an Eee PC 1005P. The Windows 7 license was clearly unacceptable, so I've destroyed it and installed Ubuntu Netbook Edition. They've done an impressive job, smooth trouble-free install, and a clean usable interface. Pretty much everything works perfectly. There's quite a few new toys for someone who hasn't run the latest Ubuntu in a while. Ubuntu One? Empathy? Gwibber? So far, I'm very pleased with the hardware too, much better than the original Eees. It's saying six and half hours battery, not quite the 11 hours advertised but nice nonetheless.
I probably won't get around to going after my windows refund though.
