Thames Barrier - Greenwich, Grenwich - London Bridge

I've just completed my second leg of the Thames Path. The first leg was last weekend, when we covered the first three and a half miles to Greenwich. In total we actually walked nearly 10 miles in count exploring the Millenium Dome, Charlton and some wandering in Greenwich. It's a nice section of the river with an interesting mix of new development and old dockland industry.

I did the second leg this evening in a more direct manner covering about 6.5 miles to London Bridge. It's not the most exciting walk, though it does alternate between extremely posh gated riverside flats and dodgy council estates in a very Londony way. Annoyingly, the former have taken over large sections of the water front forcing the Thames Path inland, where the sign posts get prompty vandalised and pointed in the wrong direction. I lost the path completely at one point and skipped a section. The highlight of the walk was when I failed to see a chain stretched between two bollards and fell over in a dramatic fashion. At least I gave the local kids a good laugh.

Oh, and no photos of the second leg because my camera seems to be broken.

I love the fact that they've put a 180 mile national trail along the river. I wonder how much of it I'm dedicated enough to walk.
