Moving in

Jul 10, 2003 09:48

Yancey and I finally got to check out of the hotel today. Such a relief. Maybe we don't have any furniture for the apartment yet, and we'll have to break out the sleeping bag again, but at least we'll have a space of our own ... and I don't have to keep worrying about fooling the credit card reader anymore.Today I'm going to start accepting bids ( Read more... )

gods, Cathy....i haven't felt this way about someone since Patrick....maybe i did, but i don't remember. you know the issues i have about getting serious with anyone, and i don't have to worry about that getting in the way here....he's immortal.

*smiles wryly*

yeah, i know i need to get over that issue once and for all. there just isn't any pressure to do that, which is nice.

i want us all to be happy, too. i think for the most part we are, but this is the hellmouth...there's bound to be some badness sometimes.

*sighs*

Yes, there's bound to be badness, and evil, and even just ordinary bad luck like you get other places. Yancey's still nervous about me going out after dark--you know how he feels about vampires, and he's afraid I'll get turned into someone's midnight snack. *shrugs* Can't blame him for being protective, though.

But maybe things'll be good for a while, and the worst I'll have to deal with is incompetent subcontractors. That reminds me--would you like a copy of my list? I don't know what you need done for your store, but maybe it'll help?

i can understand Yancey's worries. you'd think after the attack, i wouldn't go out after dark.

*shrugs and smiles*

i just make sure i have a weapon out and i'm paying attention at all times. besides, if i want to see Michael, i kind of have to go out after dark. heh, it's kind of ironic that i'm now involved with a vamp after just getting chomped on one, isn't it?

Yeah ... "irony" about seems to cover it, though Michael doesn't seem to be like the other vampires. I told you he and the Countess glow a bit differently, didn't I? You have to really look for it--well, I have to really look for it. *grins sheepishly*

*looks more serious*

I do hope he's good for you, Ev. I'd hate to see you get your heart broken. Or your neck snapped or something....

he is different, more like Spike was in our dimension. did i tell you he has his soul? he never lost it.

i don't think he'd try to intentionally hurt me, or snap my neck or anything. i had a talk with Elizabeth at Astraeia's bachelorette party, and she told me some things about Michael....he's had some of the same experiences with relationships that i've had. as for breaking my heart.....i hope that doesn't happen.

*raises her eyebrows*

Another vampire with a soul? Well, that would explain the difference in the glow, I suppose. Wonder if he'd let me look a little closer next time I see him? Or would he think that rude?

*stretches* Not that I'll have a chance to do it anytime soon, I suspect. I don't expect to hear back from the subcontractors until tomorrow or Monday, but I need to get some more office equipment--right now my only fax machine is my laptop, and I'd like to have a separate one. Plus Yancey and I need to go shopping for household stuff ... maybe we can do that Saturday. How about you? Getting the condo furnished okay?

yeah, but i think it's different than Spike was. he never lost his, Spike had to go and get his back. as for getting a closer look, he may find it rude. he still thinks he needs to be invited over before showing up...i told him we were past that etiquette stage.

*smiles*

i did a lot of shopping for the condo yesterday. i may use a few pieces in the store, so it wasn't a completely selfish venture. i suppose i should get back to the store and continue seeing what i need contractors for.

*walks towards the door*

oh, did you have that list of contractors handy?

Well, I won't do it without asking next time--I hope he doesn't mind the look I had earlier, but it's kind of a reflex these days ... last couple of weeks, sometimes it was necessary to know if someone in the crowd was human or not, y'know?

The list? Sure, here.

*goes over to laptop and starts a printout*

Now there may be more electricians on here than you need; I dunno. You'll probably be worrying more about lighting and climate control than I am.

*hands the printout to Evalon* Here you go. Thanks for stopping by!

*grins* Getting back into the retail habit, aren't I?

*waves as Evalon exits*
