Moving in
Yancey and I finally got to check out of the hotel today. Such a relief. Maybe we don't have any furniture for the apartment yet, and we'll have to break out the sleeping bag again, but at least we'll have a space of our own ... and I don't have to keep worrying about fooling the credit card reader anymore.
Today I'm going to start accepting bids from subcontractors. The leasing agreement is pretty flexible about what I can do downstairs, as long as I don't knock out any supporting walls or pillars. The carpet is fine, just needs to be shampooed, but I'd like a fresh coat of paint, and of course I need to think about display cases and cabinets. Plus I'll need another security system installed. The one they have now isn't bad, but it's pretty basic, and I want video monitoring.
