Yancey and I finally got to check out of the hotel today. Such a relief. Maybe we don't have any furniture for the apartment yet, and we'll have to break out the sleeping bag again, but at least we'll have a space of our own ... and I don't have to keep worrying about fooling the credit card reader anymore.Today I'm going to start accepting bids

Hi! C'mon in ... the place is still....
*looks around*
Well, it's not a mess, because the owners didn't let it become one, but there's just not much to it right now.

it looks like you've done more than i have in my store, even without anything in here. i've been kind of distracted lately.
did you find anyone to help with the rewiring yet?

*looks at the walls*
I can't figure out what color paint I'd like ... this is different enough from the old store that I don't want to try and reproduce what I had. And I need to remember to order business stationary--I need to get used to saying I'm on DeKnight Road. Was there a DeKnight Road back home? I can't remember, but I really wasn't in our Sunnydale for that long.
*glances upstairs and smiles* The apartment's different, too, luckily. Big enough for the two of us.

i need to get business stationary, too....once i come up with a name for the store!
*laughs*
i think there was a DeKnight Rd in our Sunnydale....i'm not positive, though. i'm tempted to paint my walls red, because i love the color and it gives that warm glow to a room.
*gets excited expression*
oh! Michael told me about some Egyptian antiquities a business contact of his found. i would love to get some of those in my store! i'd probably even keep some for myself.
*smiles warmly*
is Yancey upstairs?
Reply
Egyptian antiques? Really? Very classy.
*smiles affectionately, looking upstairs again*
Yes, he's getting some sleep. He hasn't really been sleeping very soundly since we got here. *shrugs* Neither was I, for that matter. Being under a death order will do that ... and while he never told me, I got the feeling that there was a price placed on my head, too.
*shivers*
At least it looks like we don't have to worry about that here.

*looks concerned*
a death order sounds absolutely horrible, Cathy! it must've been awful for you and Yancey. hopefully you've both escaped that here.
*smiles and looks extremely happy*
i'm sorry, Cathy. i can't seem to stop smiling today. the way you look when you talk about Yancey reminds me of how i feel about Michael...he and i had a rather serious discussion last night.
*grins excitedly*
he told me he's in love with me.
Reply
*smiles* So Michael's in love with you? That's wonderful, Ev! And you? Though I think your face gives you away there.

*grins again*
i guess i shouldn't play poker anytime soon, huh? yes, i am in love with him as well. i know it seems really fast, but it feels right.

I know what you mean ... I didn't expect to fall in love with Yancey at all, much less as deeply and as quickly as we did.
*absentmindedly fiddles with her engagement ring*
I'm happy for you, Ev. I want--I want us all to be happy. Maybe that's a crazy thing to wish for on the Hellmouth, or even away from the Hellmouth, but ... I want us to be happy.
