How sad it is that time must pass like it does and one must get older far quicker than one would like. I must make decisions soon and I'm afraid that none of the choices will end up being satisfactory to me. And it is far too late to start over again. Even with all the research I conducted I worry that Shannon was not the best choice after all to help me create the kind of children a patriarch can be proud of.
Two girls from her are both wretchedly proud and far too stubborn. The third one finally accepted her life and married a good man named Patrick. So far she seems to be a good choice. The two who I was thinking of rejecting seem to have done my work for me by dissapearing completely. I would say it was neatly tied up and finished except for the fact that little Eva decided to throw in with a complete idiot who stole from the Carollo family. She apparently left with the stolen goods, they killed Dave the idiot boyfriend which is fine by me, saves me the effort after all. But if I don't locate her I may have to owe the family for the goods.
I'd rather avoid that thank you.
Now my sons are a puzzle. I decided to try different stock for them. Shannon's genetics had already shown some faults. Although I do have to lay some of the blame for my daughters at the feet of my mother. Evangeline always coddling them and teaching them defiance.
Perhaps I should have started the pruning of the family tree with her...oh who am I kidding, there are a few unbreakable things in my life and that line is one of them.
One of my sons slipped into drug use, he was obviously flawed. He managed to remove himself from the gene pool with a little encouragement. Now I must pick from the two that remain. One in Harvard but running off to marry that Isabella woman. Bah. And the rock band, he will hopefully outgrow that soon. The other has a successful legal career but he has signed with Wolfram & Hart, totally unacceptable. He was an experiment at any rate, growing up with never knowing his father. It seems to have made him stronger than the others.
Perhaps I should visit him, renew ties of kinship.
Evalon and Patrick will be sent home, then I'll see which son comes with us.
