I'm baaaaaaaack...

On this day...

... in 1810, King George III celebrated his 50th anniversary as king.
... in 1960, the world's first electronic wristwatch (the Accutron) went on sale.
... in 1971, China joined the UN and replaced Taiwan.
... in 1881, Picasso was born.
... in 1912, Minnie Pearl was born.

And in 2006, I returned to my LJ with an uninspired "I'm home"  post.  Not too much to report, it was a relaxing vacation in Alabama.  The weather was gorgeous (in the 70s and 80s).  Two baby calves were born (Jeffrey and Hoss), one of which I got on film and will delight in terrorizing my non-farm family with for years to come.  I ate way too much tasty Southern food and probably gained some pounds that could have used shedding even before I left.  I accidentally cut major chunks out of my hair and am now forced to wear it up until such time comes that I'm comfortable going to a hairdresser to have it fixed without fear that they'll lop all the rest off.  And the day before yesterday (non-vacation related) I locked myself out of my house and was forced to do such things as read the user's manual for our vehicle and lock myself in the trunk to see if the interior release latch really does work (it does...and it glows in the dark).  I was bored.  I'm safely in the house now and really should get back to work.  Ta ta!
