Wiping the steam from the mirror, Sara studied her reflection with the same scrutiny she spent on every piece of evidence. She ran her fingertips over the tiny crow’s feet that graced the corners of her eyes and the laugh lines at the edges of her mouth.
“You’re so beautiful,” Grissom whispered engulfing her in his arms as he placed a soft kiss along her neck.
“It’s only in your arms that I’ve ever truly felt that way,” her eyes meeting his shyly in the mirror.
“Honey, it’s only with you in my arms that I’ve ever truly felt…alive.”
