Ever since N has purchased a zoom lens for me, it has been my dream to take a picture of a bear. I carry the zoom lens with me everywhere on the off chance that I'll get a lucky encounter. Wildlife at Point Reyes National Seashore

On our last visit to the Point Reyes National Seashore we have chosen to explore Tomales Point - a narrow ridge, reaching out far into the ocean. The trail goes through the elk reserve, so we got quite a lot of sightings of elk as well as other wildlife like coyotes and eagles.

flock of birds

My favorite thing about the beaches of California is the richness of the fauna which you encounter there. At one point we saw whales, seals, dolphins and various birds - all while sitting on a small hidden beach!

Today I would like to share this magnificent flock of birds we've seen not far from the city of Half Moon Bay.
